Medical Mission In Manila for 7-Eleven Day

PhilSeven Foundation Inc. (PFI) in partnership with Manila Health Bureau and Manila Department of Social Welfare Development Office conducted a Medical Mission for indigent residents of Manila last July 14, 2012.

Volunteer doctors and medical students from University of Sto Tomas – Zeta Beta Mu Fraternity and UP-PGH – Mu Zigma Phi Fraternity come together to share a common cause of helping others. Among the specialist doctors were Pediatricians, Opthalmologist, Family and Internal Medicine, a Pathologist and a Cardiologist provided their professional services for free.

Mayor Lim’s Health on Wheels Bus were stationed in the area providing free ECG, a diagnostic tool that records heart activity and detect heart problems. The cardiologist were able to serve a total of 40 patients who some was found to have minor heart ailments and was given professional medical advices.

A total of 1,497 patients of Manila mostly coming from Districts 5 and 6 benefited from the said Medical Mission. All patients received the complete set of their prescribed medicines and Multivitamins. The medicines were purchased by PFI to Erickagen, Inc. owner of Generika Drugstore who sold it a very low price as part of their CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) activities, they also brought along pharmacist, nurses and volunteers to help in the dispensing of medicines.

The event were attended by PSC Finance Division Manager and PFI Officer Mr. Lawrence M. De Leon, PSC Employees Council, PSC Employee-volunteers from HR, Marketing, Finance, BDD and Central District.
