Typhoon Ulysses Relief Operations in Rizal

Thousands of families were left homeless and displaced after Typhoon Ulysses hits Luzon and Metro Manila. One of the hardly hit area is the Municipality of Rodriguez Rizal leaving a poignant remnants after the roof-deep flood water subsidied. One week after the devastating typhoon these families are still taking shelter in many of the evacuation centers seeking and solely relying on government aids and donations from private groups and individuals just to make it through one more day.

PFI took part in augmenting the needs of these families especially the need for ready to eat food. Some 1,500 packs of freshly baked sliced bread were delivered today for the evacuees of Rodriguez Rizal through the help of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) of Montalban Rizal. These may not be enough but through the collective efforts of various NGOs and individuals we aim to alleviate the situations of our “kababayans” giving them hope and strength to recover from the devastation.
